Jardim Botânico, Porto

We just got in the morning, tired and frustrated with all things related to travel, specially overseas air travel! A word of advice, stay away from Air Canada! No, they did not lost our baggage but … that’s a story for another day!

Anyway, Margarida picked us up in the airport, late morning. Jenn wanted to take a nap, and I just needed to take a step back and relax so that I could enjoy the rest of the trip. Right next door to João and Margarida’s house is the Jardin Botanico. It sounded like a nice place to walk about and relax.

Several bus loads of school children almost killed the thought! They were most interested on an exhibit within the building. I was surprised that so few people were strolling the grounds. Couples, seating under the trees, murmuring their thoughts to each other, moms with little kids having a break from the city commotion just on the other side of the garden walls, some students in deep reading mode, a lone gardener tending to flowers and NO cell phones in sight.

Soon, I will go deeper on all I saw, but for now, enjoy some photos.
